I have been attendig several italian courses with Gabriele Ungaro while living in Rome during the last one and a half year - both one-to-one and in class. My experiences from that have been very positive. He is a very good tutor, educational, enthusiastic and know the italian society, including history, politics and everyday life in Italy and Rome very good as well.
I went to Rome one year and a half ago, and didn't know very much about Rome and Italiy. During lessons with Gabriele we have discussed - in italian - several issues that have let me known this country better. I have had many interesting discussions about the italian history, culture, traditions and how this society work as well. At the same time I have learned a lot Italian.
Thus, I may highly recommend Gabriele for your mission in Rome!

Gabriele, you were fantastic.
Our family truly enjoyed the time we spent with you.
It was a shame we couldn't have had him in all of our cities. You made us comfortable and everything you could to make our trip to Rome, though short, very meaningful. It was so great that we asked you to take us and another family on a tour of Rome. We had a great time and even the kids loved it.
Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts. You made our trip meaningful.

Gabriele,
I want to thank you again for everything you did for me during my recent week in Rome.
You are a great (and very patient) Italian teacher and a fantastic and dependable guide. It was fun to visit Rome with you on your scooter and chat in Italian about Italy's politics, art and style while enjoying the best roman cafés. My Italian improved a great deal and I learned so much about life in Rome in a short time. It was an unforgettable experience.
I’m so pleased that I got in touch with you rather than going to a traditional language school, and I would recommend you to anyone who is seeking a genuine and unique immersion into Italian culture.
Very best wishes,
David

I took weekly classes with Gabriele for nearly a year, and found him absolutely excellent. He is a wonderful teacher. I have recommended him to a number of others, including friends visiting and wanting intensive tutoring for short periods of time. One of my friends, who has studied various languages, said that he was the best language teacher she had ever had. He is entertaining, clever, and conscientious.
Enjoy! Sarah

I have known Gabriele Ungaro as an excellent teacher of Italian
for approximately one year.
He has a professional approach to teaching
and a good personality. He was able to combine the theoretical with
practical aspects, which made his lessons interesting. From having only
a very basic knowledge of the Italian language, we parted after
approximately one year, when Gabriele maintained I only needed to
practice the language.

I studied with Gabriele for 8 months, both beginner and intermediate levels
(once a week classes). Gabriele is a very clear teacher and has great
little tricks for remembering otherwise boring grammatical rules. He is
very good at conversation, and getting you involved in speaking and
understanding conversation. So if your intention is to improve these
skills, he is perfect. Apart from his technical skills, he is just a very
fun, nice guy, and has lots of insights into Italian culture, food,
religion, travel, etc., so there is plenty of opportunity for great
conversations.
I highly recommend him. Sounds like a great week!
All the best,

Yes, I would recommend Gabriele. I took his course after I was already fluent for a review and to get into the more advanced grammatical rules/verbs of the anguage. He was very good at assessing my needs and tailoring the course to my level. His style is less rigid than some language schools, but as you are already luent, I think that he would be the perfect teacher. He mixes strict grammar with conversation and really puts the rules to good practical use.
In addition, he is also very knowledgeable about Rome and Italian culture including cooking), so you will learn a lot outside the grammatical aspects.
I would suggest that, should you decide to study with Gabriele, you make your objectives clear to him so that he can best design a course for the week that you have.
Best regards,
Gabrielle

I would definitely recommend Gabriele for Italian tutoring. Apart from being an excellent teacher, I like him as a person. He's honest, patient, has a good sense of humor and makes learning Italian interesting. I also appreciate the fact that he doesn't speak English during class and he doesn't do all the talking, unlike some other Italian professors I've had here.
Good luck,

Hi everybody!
All of us want to thank you tremendously for your wonderful tour and commentary. We have recommended you to every person we know going to Italy. It is rare to meet people who have the integrity to deliver everything they promised before our tour. We always felt that we were in good hands and that you drove as safely as you had promised while also providing such excellent commentary.
We also, thank you for inviting us to meet your wife, Anna, and for the dinner to your home
We hope you are all well.
Sincerely,

I spent my summer in Roma and one of my objectives was to learn to speak Italian. Since I have a little knowledge of an italian dialect from my parents speaking, I needed to learn how to properly have a conversation.
Well, picking Gabriele and Italianoincasa was my best choice (I found him on the internet) Gabriele and I would spend our hours going over various things from my Italian book. However, the best for me was conversing with him thereby teaching me proper phrasing and pronunciation.
The most important thing we did was get on Gabriele's motorino and travel to different areas of Roma and mix with the local people.. (he's a very good and cautious driver I might add and I wasn't afraid for a minute) This gave me an opportunity to go to places that tourists dont usually go and learn how they live. So not only was I learning to converse in Italian, but I had Gabriele take me as a guide to some of the important sites in Roma. In fact we even went one day to the Terminal and learned how to buy tickets, travel by train and again do things that the locals do. Although I have been in Rome before, I saw sights from a totally different perspective than I had seen before.
What a wonderful way this was to learn Italian and to learn to love this wonderful city Roma.

Ciao Gabriele,
I am now back in Hong Kong, settled in. Thank you so much for your help in my Italian!
"I studied with Gabriele for 4 months, 1-2 hour per week during my time during my business trip in Rome. Gabriele has a very hands-on approach to teaching Italian, and the things that I have learnt from him are very practical. I went from not knowing any Italian, to be able to navigate and communicate with other Italians on a day-to-day basis within a couple months. He also gave me lots of tips on food and travel within Italy. Thanks Gabriele for making my Rome trip more fun and enjoyable!"
Take care!
Jackie.
