Ciao, my name is Gabriele Ungaro and
I’m the Director of this Centre for Italian culture.

I am a native Italian speaker and I graduated from the Political Science University of Rome. I have been working  for many years as an Italian teacher in Universities and Italian Schools of Language in Rome. I'm also organizing professional training for immigrants, including Chef and Waiter training.

During this time I spent many days offering to my students private Rome tours that almost always ended with an informal Italian dinner in my home. In this way both my knowledge of the city and my culinary experience have grown over the years. 

That’s why Italiano in Casa was born in 2003, as a cultural centre specialized in the spread of the Italian style of life with the mission to offer a valid alternative to mass tourism and to traditional language lesson.

So if you need, for instance, a properly licensed guide that introduce you inside a museum, hire an "official" guide.

But if you'd like to know the  hidden corners  of this capital city or to  spend an evening with an Italian family preparing a traditional Italian dinner for you.... if you want a friend, not a lecture, then you need Italiano in Casa.
